My name is Ernest Larkins, and I am currently in Room 412. A few weeks ago, I was admitted after experiencing a seizure upon leaving the hospital. While at Westview, I had another seizure, and it was your nurse, Lynda Lamont Pichardo, who found me. Her quick and steady response made sure I received the care I needed and got back to the hospital safely. I’ve now been here three weeks without another seizure, and I don’t take that for granted. This experience has come with a lot—especially anxiety and the weight of not feeling like myself. What stands out to me is Lynda’s ability to notice when something isn’t right, often before I say anything. She has a way of showing up at just the right moment. Her presence is calm, steady, and reassuring in a way that’s hard to put into words, but easy to feel. Being two hours away from my family and not knowing anyone here has been difficult. In the middle of that, Lynda has made this place feel less unfamiliar. The care she gives doesn’t feel routine—it feels personal. Like someone who genuinely wants you to be okay. She doesn’t just respond—she pays attention. She anticipates. She follows through. Whether it’s making sure I connect with someone I need to see or simply checking in at the right time, she creates a sense of support that matters more than I can fully express. This has also been a very vulnerable time for me—adjusting to needing help in ways I never have before. The way she handles that brings a sense of ease and dignity to something that could easily feel uncomfortable. It reminds me that care, when done right, protects more than just the body—it protects the person. I wanted to take the time to acknowledge her and express my sincere appreciation. She is making a real and meaningful difference in my recovery. Respectfully, Ernest Larkins
Hi.\n I want to extend my open heart as much as possible to the staff. And especially to the lady named Linda, I came into this place without any hope. Thinking of that, my life had come to an end. If\n It truly wasn’t for the love and affection and the caring your staff is contribute, I wouldn’t have a gleam of hope. I’ve been in and out of the hospital for a year, unable to walk lost my legs after 71 years, I felt like it come to an end. Go to after the staff and the support that has been given to me. My world around me, that’s truly changed the gratitude I have for the folks here are above and beyond any inconceivable statement or true emotions. I want to thank Linda. I don’t know her last name, but I think it’s Picard, and the physical therapist name Cole have definitely stood by me. End this hour of desperation, the professionalism cause immensely impressed me for I did work in the medical field for over 25 years, helped shut up the first triage hospital. And help construct and work on all phases of the medical field, the world has immensely changed, and the people that are firing in between on your staff has immensely made a difference in my Alco, an outlook. I’ve wanted to proceed to continue on and not give app, I can see it in their eyes that they truly are concerned and have definitely gone so far out of their way, even though I’ve been an angry hateful person. I just cannot say enough.
Had a great experience overall. Westview was clean and comfortable. Cannot say enough about the exceptional staff. Caring and helpful, always watching out for my well being. Entire staff was warm and pleasant, always supportive. PT staff excellent, Ishmael and Lindsey were such a great help in my recovery rebuilding my strength and working back to my former independence. Lynda, my CVM was amazing, always there, helpful and positive… and funny! She made such a difference in my stay. This was my first rehab experience; highly recommend the Westview team. Thanks for all your help!
My Honest Review of Westview Healthcare Center I was sent to Westview Healthcare Center for rehabilitation and ended up staying for 30 days. Here’s my honest breakdown of each department and how they helped (or didn’t help) me on my road to recovery. Nurses and CNAs – Grade: A These folks were the true heartbeat of Westview. They worked with limited resources, long hours, and some very difficult patients, yet they were always fast to respond, kind, and genuinely caring. They took excellent care of me. If my own mother or father needed rehab care, I would want these nurses and CNAs looking after them. Rehab / PT and OT – Grade: A The physical and occupational therapy team was outstanding — easily the best I’ve experienced. Their program was well-organized and included weight training, cardio, and practical daily living skills like dressing and toileting. The therapists were friendly, encouraging, and truly invested in my recovery. They worked with me five days a week and made a huge difference. Facility / Rooms – Grade: C The building is quite old and dated. The garden patio was nice and peaceful, but the rooms were a major issue. My room was very small, and they placed two patients in it. I’m not sure how this meets fire code. The bathroom had no grab bars, which I believe is an ADA violation. There was only one TV per room, which created problems when my roommate wanted to watch something different. Administration / Doctor – Grade: C I requested meetings to discuss several issues (room size, diet needs, etc.), but no one ever followed up. The doctor was pleasant but moved so quickly that it was hard to ask questions. He seemed to leave most communication up to the nurses. Food Services – Grade: D / F The food was some of the worst I’ve had in any facility. Portions were small, and they rarely followed the posted menu. Even when I submitted a special request sheet for different meals, they frequently got it wrong. I felt they took advantage of the fact that many patients were elderly and less likely to complain. Overall Grade: C- The Nurses, CNAs, PT/OT team, and even the janitors who kept the rooms clean were the stars of this facility. Unfortunately, the poor food quality and overcrowded, outdated rooms significantly brought the overall experience down. If you have a loved one who needs short-term rehab, I would recommend Westview mainly because of the excellent therapy and nursing staff — but be prepared for the facility limitations and food issues.
They did not flush my IV for three days. It is supposed to be flushed every day. I had to be rushed to the emergency hospital because they failed to notice that my legs were 3° different and temperature. The food was horrible. The only thing I could eat was oatmeal and cold cereal.
Excellent Care. All staff was great to me and my family. April is a really good Nurse Practitioner.
It’s impossible to get a human on the phone. I’ve been trying to reach my mom for 3 days to let her know I’ve been sick and in the hospital. Who ever did answer finally was completely disinterested in hearing my frustration, and proceeded to tell me it’s not her job to get me in contact I was welcome to call back in 30 min !!! Excuse me ? But what is YOUR JOB AS THE RECEPTIONIST ? No no, I’ll wait ….. Look, I know it’s Friday and you probably have plans for the weekend, I get it. … I’m just saying, even if you say it in a syrupy sweet albeit condescending tone, you should be a little more professional, or find a job where you don’t have to deal with the public PERIOD
My mother resided here for around 6 weeks for the last of her hospice journey. Everyone was absolutely incredible. They let us stay late to visit and treated my mother with care and dignity. Yes, the facility is old, they are very busy and sometimes a little short staffed but the care was absolutely outstanding 👏 for my mother. I was there every other day for hours at a time and I always felt welcomed. Thank you for everything 🫂
Office experience. Stay away!!!!
Blanca Harvey has a heart of gold and patience of a diamond.
I strongly advise avoiding Westview Healthcare Center. If you have a loved one here, ensure they are getting proper care, and consider moving them if possible. This facility is severely understaffed, and the staff that is there is rude and inattentive. They seem more focused on their phones than on patient care. It is especially unsuitable for elderly and vulnerable patients, and mixing mental health patients with elderly residents is unsafe. My 86-year-old grandmother was transferred to Westview on December 15, 2024, against her wishes. Despite her clear request to stay at Oakland Kaiser for another night, she was moved two hours away to Auburn. Upon arrival, the front desk was empty, and EMTs were left to wander the facility. A staff member named Danielle eventually assisted us but expressed dissatisfaction with her job, which added to my anxiety. The room was appalling. The food was cold and had been sitting out for hours, the room was dirty with trash and blood stains, and the thermostat didn’t work, leaving the room freezing. No one checked on my grandmother overnight, even though she needed constant oxygen monitoring and inhaler treatments. The night was full of unsettling noises from other residents, and I had to check her oxygen levels myself. When I raised my concerns with the staff, particularly a nurse named Princess, she seemed uninterested. A manager tried to pressure my grandmother into signing paperwork under duress, but I stopped her. By morning, my grandmother was begging to leave, and it was clear she might not have survived if I had left her there. This traumatic experience left me mentally and emotionally drained, and I’m still recovering from the stress. I filed a complaint with the facility, but they were unable to substantiate my claims. It’s troubling that staff like Danielle and George, who showed genuine care, are in a place where they can’t make a difference. I urge anyone who cares about their loved ones to stay away from Westview Healthcare Center.

Good facility! Good nursing staff. Very pleased: THANK YOU!
I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident My mother was at Westview Healthcare Center. Some of their staff were very nice to her. What I didn’t like is that in the almost nine years she was there, they filtered through their staff about 6 or 7 times. And my mother always had stuff coming up missing. Like the pretty flowing dresses I got her, like the ones she used to wear when I was little, they’re all gone. All she had was a bunch of second-hand hand-me-downs from other residents who either died or were discharged there, but all the nice stuff that I bought my mother was gone. I was not satisfied. They overdosed my mother on her high blood pressure medication. They didn’t put up alarm systems to notify the staff when she got out of bed. She has been confined to a wheelchair since 2019, and she fell out of the bed and broke her femur. God only knows how long she was down. Their food was ridiculous, too. They’re supposed to assist my mother with feeding and drinking because she has trouble gripping everything. And every time my mother has gone to the ER, they say she has been dehydrated. And when I bring her food, she eats like she’s starving. My mother is very picky, and I know that much, but when I went in there a few times, my mother was just sitting there eating the cake dessert because she needed some food. Medicare won’t replace her dentures, so she’s got sores on top of her mouth and her mouth hurts. One time I went in there and they had like a little slab of cheap steak on a plate that wasn’t even cut up. Because she couldn’t chew it, she was just eating whatever scraps she could fit in her hands to get it in her mouth because no one was helping her. Regarding rooms, the private pays have their own room, but with Medi-Cal, they’re cramped together. And the atmosphere was like one step before the morgue. As you go down the hallway, you start to smell pee.
I been at Westview healthcare center since april and my favorite nurse Graciela who I call GG is very professional even when I cross the line. She’s amazing with a great heart and unfortunately is leaving Westview soon and I’m sad about it. We need more nurses like her. She should have been the head nurse.
I been at Westview for a few months and is been great so far the place is clean and organized and the nurse Graciela is always attentive, caring and very professional
